I am mortally afraid of, I know they have a very important place in the environment, and leave them STRICTLY alone. Still: the only good snake is one that is dead, and WAY over yonder. It is, therefore, amazing how many close encounters of the 3rd kind I have had with snakes. Far too many. But they make great stories... Like the one about the snake on the log in the river, the snake in the carport where we were trying to deliver furniture, the great rubber snake, the lady that killed her "scare-snake" with a hoe, the cat-tail-snake story, the jumping-over-the-ditch story and others. One of my favorites that happened to someone else is the surveyor story. |
