PINKPAW and company

One day, we were setting out yo-yo's up in the trees on the Mississippi side of the River.  The fish were biting, and we had fried the first batch (fish tastes best fried on the bank).  The water was high enough that we were working up in the limbs of the trees.  This is great, because the fish love it.  It's not so great, because the snakes do too.

I was pulling with my left hand, and paddling with my right.  As we eased over a drowned limb, I was looking around at the forest, and my eyes traveled over the limb I was pulling on.  There was a water moccasin on the limb, with it head right there at my hand!

Suddenly, a paddle came down and chopped the snake!   And there was a hand holding the paddle!  And it was mine!
