	Well, that was a long no-update time.
	And I am only putting up a few pictures for Ebay.  No real work, sorry.  :(
	I Love Evercrack, I mean Everquest.  Level 36 now.  Hehe my old hunting partners are green to me, mostly.

	The 404 error is useful now!  This has been one of my pet peeves.  I just could not find out how to customize that page.  It is in the .htaccess form for the root directory, at least for the Apache server I am running on.
	The Guest Book is mostly finished.  Cindy is happy!
	The sweet potato ball recipe is finished.
	Added counters for the frame bottom, the Dennis page, and the Quest For Glory V: Dragon Fire page.  I may add counters...
	The next thing I want to do I am very unsure of, I want to make the random quote picker work better.  It loads too slowly.
	The Christmas tree is up!  It has LIGHTS!  I love Chrstmas, SO!

	We had turkey, dressing, ham, peas, sweet potato ball, crescent rolls, pecan pie for desert, and sliced pineapple.  Yum!
	Got interested and added 37 quotes.
	The quotes now take too long to load!  Not Cool!  Must learn more perl.
	Added a Guest Book.  It is in perl.
	Added a hit counter for the bottom of the page.  Need more.   The simple-minded counter uses SSI, so...
	Learned about SSI!  Cool!
	Learned how to redirect the 404 error screen to something FAR more user friendly.

	Recreated the old "index.htm" and "cookies.htm" files.  It finally dawned on me that many of the bad link hits were because of these, where people had bookmarked them, or where search engines pointed at them.  I must endeavor not to move pages, or at least leave behind a link.
	Improved the "frameless" code.  It now has the button bar and the link to the QFG hints (the most popular page, using "popular" VERY loosely.
	Fixed some of the links in the quotes, too.  Grr.
	I also joined the Quest For Glory V:  Dragon Fire ring.  I have still not seen anyone with a better hint than I have.
	I testified in court against a man who stole computers from my work, today.  It was very stressful and sad.  He was bound over for presecution, and assigned to criminal court.  I like the man who stole the computers, I was very disappointed he would steal from us.  He looked much better today than he did the day he took the computers, and I hope things are going better for him now.  Surely things must have been awful to bring him to such a state that he would steal the computers we were going to donate to charities.  Sad.

	I just love computers.  Really.  I had just about figured out how to get the more-automated way to display the quotes working.  Just about.   Then I got the dreaded "...system is busy or has become unstable..." message.  Adios, give up, reach for the red switch.  Once Scandisk finished, I determined that I had lost only a few hours work.
	Anyway, the quote count is now up to 80 (60 this morning), and it is easier for me to add more.
	I will be very glad to have any other quotes that are really good.   Please send them.
	I added a link to the full listing, and put the spreadsheet of quotes on the site.
	Now we see if it works on any computer but mine.  Wish me luck.

	The page appears to be OK, and I have improved my own notes and page titles.
	Next, I write the VB code for the Excel spreadsheet that will generate the quote code for me.

	Almost 5.  Sigh.
	The background died.  FP98 has a "DUH!"  I renamed the "images" directory as "Images"...BAD idea.  FP98 does not detect the change affects the background property of the pages, and does NOT change it.   Renamed it back.
	I left the quote-picker debug code turned on, and it always gives the newest quote, now.  Grr!
	Trying again.

	Cleaned a broken link to Intellicast.  The radar loop keeps wandering, sorry.  Added a note to that effect.
	Put all the quotes in a spreadsheet.   Still have to write code to automatically generate the "quote-picker".
	Found another Netscape/IE difference.  If I don't hit break the line after a graphic, IE does not care.  Navigator does, and leaves the first part of the next line attached to the graphic.  Yech.
	It is now 4:00AM and I still have to publish the page.  Good Morning.  Hope you enjoy.

	We are on the quote ring.  Cool.
	I damaged my site's code.  Not Cool.  Fixed it.
	Discovered another oddness between Netscape and MS browsers.   Drag.  Fix it later.
	Put links on the Quest For Glory 5:  Dragon Fire page.  The search Engines were putting people in there with no easy way out, since they were cut off from the frames.  Hmm.
	It was neat, really, there were about 2 times as many sessions as their were hits on the entry page.  I studied the stats, and found that they were hitting that page, staying an average of 10 minutes, and then leaving.
	Once again I have promised myself to try all 4 browers I have each time I make changes.  (not going to happen, but it sounds good)
	Got a copy of a set of instructions, from a DOG, of what he claims is a good way to wash a cat.   Hmm.

	Submitted the site to a quotations web ring!
	Found a fine site that was on it.  Cool.  His Cat Commandments under "Thoughts" "Humorous" is deliriously funny!  Some of the things he does with this page are just fantastic.   I am quite jealous.
	Then I wandered the ring for a few hours and had a blast.
	Added the required link into the ring on the quote page.
	Adding a fine science site to the favorites page.
	Corrected some font problems on the Dennis page.
	We actually got the truck back, at the end of October. 3 MONTHS it took to put the stereo in. Actually, that only took 1 1/2 months. Then it took another 1 1/2 to find the problems that caused. And the alternator died. And the driver-side door-lock died. And the 4-wheel drive is STILL dead, but I would not let them touch the truck again. And they bent the pins that hold the knobs for the stereo so that they would not work (I fixed it).
	If you are considering taking your vehicle to United AutoMax here in Memphis, you may wish to consider VERY CAREFULLY.
	One pair of my glasses were great.  The other was flawed.   The folks at EyeMasters were very nice, and were very proud of their good work, and very embarrassed by their bad.  They are remaking the "bad" set now.
	Our friends bought a Gateway computer, with my help.  I have sent MANY people to Gateway, and they have never embarrassed me.  Until now.  It took just over 2 weeks to get the computer going.  The monitor went by UPS...to the wrong state.  Then it was rerouted...to another wrong state.  Then it was rerouted...to a third (wrong) state.  Finally, the monitor arrived, and the motherboard was flawed.  In fairness, Gateway was very NICE, but they just could not get the monitor there.  Sigh.

	Finally Scanned the Cat.  He is only 19 pounds now, down from 22.  He seems to have adapted to the diet.
	My Aunt Louise has a cat too.
	The truck people claim the Blazer is ready.  We will see on Monday.

	I got a USR modem to try with W2K RC1, and it works.
	This web site looks different on IE5 under RC1 than it does on IE5 on W95.  Hmm.

	Added a link on the main page to tell people how to see another quote.
	Tried to do the same for the music link, but it always opens a new page, rather than refreshing the "bottom" window of the frame.  Odd.
	Loaded Windows 2000 Release Candidate One. It  sees my modem, but says it is disabled by the BIOS (not!) and I can't get to the Internet on it.  Grrr. This web site looks different on the version of IE5 that ships with W2000.  Odd. It sees my Voodoo2 card, but does not talk to it.  It says it has no driver.  Also Odd. The autologon feature won't work for me.  Very Also Odd. It looks pretty cool.  In fact, it LOOKS very cool. I loaded up the Beta 3 Resource kit.  Fun work-type stuff.   Useful-looking too. Still has the same Pinball game.  (C'mon, guys!  New Toys!) Same 3d screen-savers, too.  (Chanted: "New Toys!  New Toys! ..."  WANT MORE TOYS!) I like the stereo "Ding!".  I may forgive them for the lack of new toys because of the better sound alone.
	Took the truck back. They got the stereo in!  Hurray! They can't mount it!  Needs a new dash.  Drat. Got it back again. They fixed the lights, wiper, compas, thermometer!  Great! It died:  No Juice.  Must be electrical problems.   Sigh. Took it back again, and they are going to keep it for the duration.   Drat!  Drat!  Drat!

	This fixed the problems.  Odd.
	I have ditched FP 2000 and am looking at competitors.
	We got the truck back from the repair people for the weekend.   We will have to see if they can ever actually get the parts in to fix the truck before we give it back to them again.  Sigh.

	Deleted the entire site and resent it with FP2000.
	This fixed the problem with the frame page not showing everything (the title and navigation bars were only partly visible.)
	It created the problem that the backgrounds do not show on some of the pages.  Too weird.  I have checked the HTML and there is simply not a callout for the wallpaper.  Another day.
	Added a blurb about Might & Magic 7.  Great game.

Our Blazer was broken into!  I just really don't like crooks.  Grrr.  They bashed the window and took the stereo.  I am quite disappointed in our security folks at Contry Squire Apartments.  They did not notice the hood up on the truck, or the broken window.  I called and asked them to call me back, but they have not.  At least the crooks left our "Best of Elvis" CD (weak grin), and it has not rained, and they don't seem to have messed up the interior.

Added a couple of quotes, and made the Dennis & Cindy Picture page a little better.

	1 day before Office 2000, and 1 week before Frontpage 2000.   I hope 2000 is a lot smarter than 98.  Don't get me wrong, 98 is great, but not perfect by a considerable margin.  And WEIRD stuff happens.  And THINGS sometimes DISAPPEAR.  Or just stop, suddenly.
	Restored the active code from a previous version.  Success.  I KNEW I made backups for SOME reason.
	Still can't fix the bar height in Navigator.
	The music also seems to be flaky in Navigator, now.   Sometimes I hear it after a "loading plugin" message.  Sometimes silence.   Sigh.
	Updated the FAQ a bit.

	Did something wrong and lost the active code on the button bar.
	Did something else wrong and the frame for the button bar is now too short in Netscape.  It is fine in IE.  I hate computers...I think I may have made a career turn in the wrong direction somewhere.

	The Java Applet died.  Too Weird.  Microsquish upgraded(?) my browser to IE4.1 when I installed the not-ready-for-prime-time version of Encarta 99 and the hover buttons just went away.  I removed it from the page.

	Gave up and created one button bar for IE4 and a simple link-based bar for everything else.  This is what Microsoft does...  When I know more, I will try to reunite the 2...

	More quotes.  The easiest way to see them all is to view the source for the page, if you know how.  That is too long to go into here, sorry.
	Never found a way to get rid of the space between text and button bar, so I added a 4th frame, and put the button bar into it.
	Fixed problems with the spacing of the button bar (a table of applets) by making it fill the screen.
	Shortened some of the button titles, so that they will fit on a 640 pixel wide screen.
	A side-effect fixed the problem with the buttons having gaps between them in Navigator.
	Fixed some of the problems with buttons turning a funny color, by setting the bgcolor.  Under Nav 3 it seems OK, under Nav 4 it still turns blue and gray.  Still odd.
	Fixed the problem with there being a gap above the text in the windows under Navigator.  There is a separate margin for the frames, in addition to the border of the page.  Set it to 0.  IE ignores this margin, Navigator obeys it.
	All this let me increase the amount of space NOT taken up by the "housekeeping":  Banner, button bar, footer (with music and Copyright).   Especially useful in the lower resolutions.
	Found another location to turn the margins off.

	Finished "Snake on a log in the River".
	Switched from borders to frames.  This is going to annoy some folks, but I could not get the look I want with borders.  Also speeds up switching from one page to another GREATLY, especially on a slower machine.  Alas, some browsers will not support it.  Sigh.
	The music is in the bottom frame.  Songs don't get cut off switching from one page to another.
	Clicking the "Home" button selects a new quote set without killing the song, or repainting the button bar.
	Got rid of the top margin.  Now, if I could only get the gap between the table and the text to go away...
